Ultimate mash up potential
Boing Boing: Burroughs archive bought by New York Public Library
Now this is interesting. This guy, William S. Burroughs, was the ultimate masher upper, says David Pescovitz on Boing Boing.
That was his style - he was responsible for Naked Lunch don't you know. (I didn't until I looked up Wikipedia). The New York Public Library has just bought up his archive of 11,000 pages of writings (published and unpublished), correspondence, collages, diaries, notebooks, photographs, and 50 hours of unreleased tape recordings.
It is intended it to be "read and absorbed as a work of art" apparently. So let's see what the Library lets the Public do with it.
