I am reading a trashy** Dean Koontz book at the moment - The Bad Place - and there are two twin girl characters who live as one with 26 cats in a dark smelly house.

The way Koontz describes their spooky symbiotic relationship is so spot on and is chilling yet compelling.

*That's what they like you to think anyway.
*I need trash to get me through the hell of the London Tube twice a day four times a week.
